Meiosis is the type of cell division that creates eggs and sperm. Mitosis is a fundamental process for life. During mitosis, a cell duplicates its entire contents, including its chromosomes, and divides to form two identical daughter cells.


Profase:
Prophase is the first phase of the mitosis process of a cell. This phase begins with the formation of chromosomes. Previously, DNA was coiled in a "tangle" called chromatin, which in this phase is "ordered", condensing into the structures we know as "chromosomes".

Metafase:
During metaphase, the chromosomes, attached by their centromeres to the microtubules of the mitotic spindle, are drawn to the equator of the cell, forming what is known as the "equatorial plate."

Anafase:
After the equatorial arrangement of the chromosomes in the metaphase, during anaphase there is a break in the connections between the sister chromatids that make up the chromosomes.

Telofase:

During this phase, the genetic material is once again surrounded by the nuclear membrane. In fact, if we look at a cell at this time, we find two nuclei instead of one. In addition, the DNA is decondensed again in the form of chromatin.
